Included in a series of events to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Oil and Gas Industry’s Traditional Day, on November 24, 2021, Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) hosted a ceremony to celebrate the completion of its oil output target of 9.72 million tonnes 39 days ahead of schedule and hoping to exceed its output target by 01 million tonnes for the whole year, keeping true to their commitment to the State leaders and Government. Such outstanding feat is the Group’s contribution to helping the country overcome the difficulties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Starting from November 19, 2021, it is reported that Petrovietnam has fulfilled its domestic oil output target of 7.99 million tonnes for this year 42 days ahead of schedule. On November 22, it is reported that the total domestic and international oil volume has reached 9.72 million tonnes 39 days ahead of schedule. This phenomenal outcome is the great effort of Petrovietnam’s governance and management under the strong direction of the State and the Government.

Amid the forecasted difficulties in the pandemic situation, technical and market instability, in conjunction with the development and implementation of response to the pandemic impacts in 2020, immediately from Quarter IV of 2020, Petrovietnam has worked closely with operators at each oil field to evaluate, analyze risks, in search of opportunities, seizing each solution to increase its output target and compiling everything into a completed plan for implementation. With the cooperation of oil and gas contractors, coupled with the steadfast bravery to overcome difficulties and quick utilization when oil prices hit their peak, Petrovietnam has once again stayed strong, overcame challenges and achieved meaningful successes.

Seeing how many large enterprises are facing difficulties and losses under the severe impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the important contributions of Petrovietnam all boiled down to the ardent and fierce efforts of nearly 60,000 employees in the oil and gas sector; showing solidarity and responsibility to the country in this current difficult period.

This is truly good news for Petrovietnam to continue writing their golden history page with the glorious mission of "finding oil to enrich the Fatherland".
