The first contest "Innovative Solutions for Automation and Digitalization in Agro-Industrial Production" 2023 jointly organized by PetroVietnam Camau Fertilizer Joint Stock Company (PVCFC, Hose: DCM) and Can Tho University officially took place on the morning of March 26. The contest is one of activities in PVCFC's strategy for high-quality human resource development. Through holding contests in cooperation with institutes and universities, PVCFC wishes to facilitate its team of highly skilled engineers to constantly update their knowledge and practice for optimal technology operation at PVCFC's factories.

The first contest “Innovative Solutions for Automation and Digitization in Agro-Industrial Production” 2023 was divided into 02 topics. Topic 1 “Conveyor, robot, CNC based position control” was held on March 26, 2023. Topic 2 “IOT based control” will be held in quarter 4, 2023.
The contest took place on March 26 and attracted 6 teams consisting of students from many faculties of the College of Engineering - Can Tho University. At the contest, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Dung - Dean of the Department of Automation, College of Engineering - Head of Patented Space Management Board - Head of the Organizing Committee shared: “On behalf of the Organizing Committee, he would like to thank PVCFC for accompanying the contest. He hopes that the contests in the coming years will attract more teams and students from other faculties of Can Tho University as well as students from other universities in the Mekong Delta region”.
The jury highly appreciated the creativity of the students in finding new solutions.
Directly accompanying the contest, Mr. Quach Kia - Foreman of Control Workshop, Ca Mau Fertilizer Plant shared: Vietnam will move forward in industry 4.0 IT, OT, IOT, AI in the application of automation in agricultural and industrial production. PVCFC expects to cooperate with Institutes and Universities to generate science & technology products and train legacy human resources of PVCFC. Through the contests, PVCFC wishes to encourage the enthusiasm and passion of students. From there, students can create practical values as a preparation to step through a new phase of experience after graduation.

The contest jury consisted of 03 representatives of the College of Engineering - Can Tho University, including: MSc. Tran Huu Danh - Vice Dean of Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications - Head of the Jury, MSc. Ho Pham Thanh Tam - Chief Engineer of SHRIMP TEK - Deputy Head of the Jury, MSc. Nguyen Khac Nguyen - Lecturer at Faculty of Automation - Member and 02 representatives of PetroVietnam Ca Mau Fertilizer Joint Stock Company including: MSc. Quach Kia - Foreman of Control Workshop and Mr. Le Thanh Hai - Head of Technical Maintenance Department.
The jury highly appreciated the creativity of the students in finding new solutions to given problems. Typically, some third-year students applied fuzzy control algorithms (Fuzzy) and IoT applications to collect data and display it on the mobile App and met most of the control quality criteria. However, the students should practice and hone their soft skills more, some of them were not confident in criticizing and presenting to the jury.
